The directory that shows
its working

71,799 UK trade businesses. 34 trades. 1,166 towns and cities. Ratings and review counts from Google, shown as Google collected them — and an honest account of what we have and haven't checked.

Why we built this

The established UK trade directories share a business model: charge tradespeople for membership and badges, then rank by who pays. The badge a homeowner is taught to trust is the product being sold to the other side of the market. Homeowners pay for that twice — in the inflated prices tradespeople charge to cover their fees, and in rankings that reflect spend rather than evidence.

Domifyr's bet is that showing the evidence beats selling a badge. Every listing carries Google's own rating and review count on one fixed scale, so a 5.0 from two reviews looks exactly as thin as it is next to a 4.7 from two hundred. Where a listing is paid (Featured), it says so. Where we haven't checked something — which today is most things — we say that too.

How we work

  • Data: listings are compiled from public Google Places data — 71,799 UK trade businesses across 34 categories, after removing 785 listings that were never tradespeople at all. We do not currently verify identity, insurance or certifications; where a trade has a statutory register (Gas Safe, ARB), we link you to it so you can check yourself.
  • Ratings: collected by Google, from Google reviewers. We display them; we do not edit, weight or sell them.
  • Pricing guides: typical UK rates by trade and area, shown as guide ranges. They are estimates to help you sanity-check a quote, never a promise of what a business will charge.
  • Quotes: when you submit a request, matched local businesses are notified and come back to you directly. Free for homeowners; tradespeople pay per lead, with prices published openly.

The team

Domifyr is built by a small team in the UK, founded in 2026. The work is exactly what this page describes: keeping the data honest, keeping the pricing visible, and never inventing a trust signal we haven't earned. We're not the biggest directory — we're trying to be the one that's straight with you.
