Why we built this

The existing UK trade directories — Checkatrade, Bark, MyBuilder, Rated People — all share the same problem: they hide pricing, charge tradespeople expensive lead fees, and prioritise the businesses that spend the most on featured ranking. Homeowners pay the same hidden cost twice: once in the inflated price the tradesperson has to charge to cover lead fees, and once in not being able to compare prices upfront.

Domifyr does the opposite. Pricing is on every page (see any /cost/ page). Rankings come from real Google reviews and trade certifications — not how much a business paid. Pay-per-lead pricing for tradespeople starts at £8, with no monthly contract.

How we work

• Data: we start with public Google Places data (72,000+ UK trade businesses across 34 categories) and verify identity, insurance, and trade-specific certifications during the claim process.
• Content:every trade × area page has unique long-form content generated by Claude AI with local building context, market overview, and 8–12 area-specific FAQs.
• Pricing: real UK rates by trade × postcode area, refreshed quarterly. Hourly rates, callout fees, common job prices — all visible on every page.
• Routing: when you submit a quote, up to 5 matched verified businesses are notified. They pay only for the leads they accept.

The team

Domifyr is built by a small team in the UK. We focus on three things: building real verification (not a coloured tick), making pricing transparent, and shipping unique local content at scale. We're not the biggest directory yet — we're building the most useful one.
